Joan Fontaine in 1944--Frenchman's Creek

I'm not a stalker, but I have been following Joan Fontaine for months. I've seen ISLAND IN THE SUN again for the first time since it came out in 1958 or so. It was shown in Port Arthur, Texas, although it was banned in parts of the South. I've checked Wikipedia on her and her sister and seen her momentarily as I flicked by THE WOMEN and thought about her last week as a friend vacationed in Carmel. What I have been thinking most about is FRENCHMAN'S CREEK. In 1944 Joan Fontaine was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, and very clear images of her in that movie remain in my mind to this day. She's still the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, even when she was disguised as a boy.
