Cousin Margaret had Wm Adams's powder horn used at King's Mountain and told the story of Margaret Ewart Adams's 12 mile ride through Tory territory to get to King's Mountain the day after the battle, to see if her husband and son were alive (not to mention her Ewart brother and nephew nephews-in-law.
