Global Warming Comes to the Middle Kingdom--83 forecast for Morro Bay

Almost unbearable yesterday.

I have been in Chicago in 2 different years when the TRIBUNE and SUN-TIMES declared the day to be the coldest in the century (the 20th century).

I have lived many years in Port Arthur, Texas; Chicago; Delaware; Pennsylvania--all places where the heat index could reach 121 and stay there for weeks.

So far we can survive here although tonight we blow up air mattresses and sleep on one of the battlements, under the sky.

Tourists keep arriving from the Central Valley and beyond. They say it is even hotter than 83 where they come from.

I can't get rid of FOLLOW THE WEEK ON FACEBOOK--I delete it and update and it stays.
