Shocking early death of Cousin Eric D. Hackley, descendant of JWH, founder of a black Baptist church in 1851

ERIC D. HACKLEY, age 62, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
Eric was born on February 17, 1955 and had many accomplishments. He was an entrepreneur; writer; author; genealogist; Hackley family historian; Fort Wayne and Native America historian; talk show host/producer; community activist; producer of voter forums; writer for the FROST Illustrated and creator of Hackonomics TV on cable Channel 57 as well as You Tube.
His various geographical areas of research included, Niles, Mi, Kalamazoo, MI, South Bend, IN, Virginia, and Ohio as well as Fort Wayne and the state of Indiana. He even contacted Hackley relatives in South Africa and England. Eric is known far and wide and his presence will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Erica Bryant; granddaughter, Keziah Bowens; sister, Linda Edmonds Stanley; uncle and aunt Charles and Anne French, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. Hackley and Hilda J. Hackley; maternal grandparents, Preston and Jessie Lyons; paternal grandparents, Donald and Thelma Hackley; a brother, Cletus R. Edmonds, Sr. and a sister, Sandra Hackley.
Eric will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery


I had looked forward to sharing information with him--and he died, way way too soon.
